How We Got Started
I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember...growing up, we had a few family dogs over the years, and they were always so patient with me and the best thing I can remember about them is their ability to have and show unconditional love. That, I believe is the best gift they give us. They were always so patient with me as I figured out how to teach each one of them commands and tricks of all sorts! After training sessions, we would celebrate and relax with a quiet walk in the woods. I spent most of my afternoons and weekends with my dogs. I soon realized that God had given me a gift with animals and with training. I didn't want to waste it.
As I was approaching 13 years old, I was given an English labrador. His name was Biddy and he was such a good dog and taught me so much! My first experience sharing life with a labrador, and Biddy made sure that I was hooked for life.
Not long after, I was lucky enough to land up at a local veterinary hospital, where I was able to take care of all types of animals til my heart was content. Here is where I became "the daughter" of the owner of the hospital. Dr. Dale Sprenkel D.V.M. He taught me the whole spectrum of how to care for animals...under his guidance, I learned so much more than I ever imagined... how to properly vaccinate, the importance of heartworm preventative, to properly manage a kennel environment, run different health tests, draw blood, talk with clients and help educate them, so that their best friend could live his/her best life...there's really no end to the knowledge that I have gained through him that I use on a daily basis all these years later and I have been able to pass this knowledge down to my boys. It is beyond rewarding watching them work with our dogs. I am forever thankful for the opportunities that I had because of Dale.
There came a point where I knew what I wanted to do...Have children, stay home with them, raise them our way...and raise labradors!
My husband, Michael built me a beautiful kennel facility and we planned our home build around our dogs. He has made my dreams of being able to stay home, raise our boys and our dogs, in our family environment, become a reality... and I simply can't thank him enough.
